As Continuing & Professional Education is a self-supporting department of Columbus State University, we rely on student registration fees to cover operational costs. If you are not able to attend this class, please request a withdrawal at least three (3) business days before the class start date to receive either a course credit voucher equal to the full purchase price, or a refund minus a $20 processing fee to the original form of payment. For example, if your class begins on a Tuesday, you must call or email Thursday in order to receive a full refund, minus the processing fee. If you withdraw less than three (3) business days prior to your class start date, your purchase is eligible for a 50% refund back to your original form of payment, or a course credit voucher for the full amount of the class. Course withdrawals on or after course start date are not eligible for a refund, only a course credit voucher for the full amount. Course credit vouchers are valid for 18 months. For Activ8 camps, withdrawals must be requested before 5pm on the Monday prior to the start of the camp to get a full refund, minus a $20 processing fee per camp. If you withdraw between Tuesday and Friday prior to camp start date, you will receive a 50% refund per camp. Camp withdrawals on or after camp start date are not eligible for a refund, only a course credit voucher for the full amount. Course credit vouchers are valid for 18 months. If your camp or class is canceled, you will receive a separate cancellation email. Please respond within three (3) business days or call 706-507-8070 to request a voucher or full refund. On the fourth (4th) business day, a voucher will be automatically applied to your account. No refunds can be given the day of or after a class begins. In the event of class cancellation or changes of times and dates, we will attempt to notify you at least 2 business days before the course begins. If you cannot attend the course due to these changes, you will receive a credit voucher, which is valid for 18 months from the date of issue. Please allow 7 to 10 business days for refunds to be processed back to your card or 10 to 15 days for check refunds. Columbus State University will not issue refunds for classes that have been postponed due to inclement weather or other circumstances beyond our control. We will make every effort to reschedule such classes. In the event of inclement weather, tune into your local radio or television for information about closings. The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a nationally recognized measurement of non-credit course work. One CEU (1.0) may be awarded for each ten hours of participation in an approved program. The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) has awarded Columbus State University’s Department of Continuing & Professional Education the prestigious Authorized Provider accreditation. IACET Authorized Providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The accreditation period extends for five years, and includes all programs offered or created during that time. About IACET: The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) is a non-profit association dedicated to quality continuing education and training programs. IACET is the only standard-setting organization approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for continuing education and training. In accordance with Board of Regents policy (Policy Manual 9.1.7) and the Georgia Smoke Free Air Act of 2005 (Title 31 Chapter 12A), the use of any tobacco products or smoking of any kind (including e-cigarettes and vaping pens) on all University System of Georgia (USG) campuses is prohibited. Our regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM until 5 PM. Although we do sometimes have classes or other events on weekends and evenings, our off-hours schedule varies; therefore, we can’t ensure that we will be open. If you would like to register for classes in person, plan to register during our normal hours of operation. We reschedule classes that are canceled due to weather conditions. Please listen to local radio and TV news stations for information about closings. We are not able to issue refunds for classes canceled due to weather. Students are encouraged to register for classes as early as possible, as some classes may fill up very quickly. Classes lacking a sufficient number of registrations are canceled three business days prior to the class start date, but not less than 48 hours prior to the start date. Classes that are filled to capacity have waiting lists. Add your name to the waiting list and we will contact you should a seat open in the class. Continuing & Professional Education’s policy is that an adult over 21 must register minor students. Most classes will allow for late registration. Please call 706.507.8070 and speak to a registration specialist to see if the class you are interested in will accept late registrations. Classes are not pro-rated for late registration, so payment in full for the class would still be required. Continuing & Professional Education’s policy is that an adult over 21 must register minor students. Prior approval must be given from instructor as classes are designed for students within the age ranges that are published. Continuing & Professional Education classes are non-credit/non-academic classes, so they are not eligible for financial aid through the university. Many Continuing & Professional Education certificate courses are approved for funding by the Department of Veterans Service and various military/military spouse aid programs. Check with your Veterans Affairs Representative or other military representative to see if you are eligible. For information about eligibility for specific certification courses, call 706.507.8070. A Continuing & Professional Education (CPE) transcript is a complete record of a student's non-credit coursework showing Continuing Education Units (CEU) earned. If you desire a transcript of credit hours earned in a degree program as an enrolled student, requests should be directed to the Registrar's Office at Columbus State University. Continuing & Professional Education will print or email unofficial transcripts to students at no charge. Official transcripts are $10.00 each. Transcripts will not be issued for students who have an outstanding balance or unfulfilled obligation to the University. If you would like an official transcript mailed or emailed to another institution, you will need to fill out a Transcript Release Form giving Continuing & Professional Education the right to release your education records. Eligible courses are taught in-house with a tuition fee of $300 or more. Online courses or courses offered via third-party educational partners do not qualify for this payment plan option. Some third-party programs may be eligible for financial assistance offered through the educational partner. The Continuing & Professional Education payment plan offers the option of paying tuition in two installments. 50% of the tuition is due at the time of registration. The remaining 50% is due on the first day of class. In order to utilize the Continuing & Professional Education payment plan option, you must register for the desired course(s) in person and complete a Payment Plan Agreement. You may also choose to receive a credit voucher for the full course amount in lieu of a refund. In this case, the processing fee will be waived. If you withdraw after the 3-day deadline, but before the class begins, you will receive a 50% refund or credit voucher. No refunds can be given after a class begins. In the event of class cancellation or changes of times and dates, we will attempt to notify you at least 2 business days before the course begins. If you cannot attend the course due to these changes, you will receive a credit voucher, which is valid for 18 months from the date of issue. We reserve the right to change class locations, schedules, fees, and instructors when necessary. No audio or video tape recording is permitted during classes without obtaining prior permission from the instructor. Our classrooms can sometimes be too warm or cool, so we recommend that you dress in layers or bring a light jacket with you to class to ensure your comfort.
